Each of the aforementioned has his/her own, personality, quirks, weapons, strengths and weaknesses. Together they make for a very interesting bunch. More information about each can be found below.
Joker: The Joker is perhaps Batman's most vicious and hated enemy. He is a psychopathic criminal who wears clown-like makeup. He stands for everything that Batman does not. Joker has dealt Batman some incredibly harsh blows. He was responsible for the paralysis of Barbara Gordon and Jason Todd's death. Todd played Robin before being killed off by the Joker.
Catman: Catman is one of Batman's original foes. He is an exceptional athlete and noted for his ability to dominate at hand-to-hand combat. His keen sense of smell, make him an incredible hunter and tracker. Catman has a number of really cool gadgets, including a Catarang and utility belt, both which are quite similar to Batman's.
Catwoman: Catwoman and Batman share what would be considered, a love/hate relationship. She has at times been portrayed as his love interest and at other times his nemesis. Most recently, she has been characterized as more of an anti-hero and less of a villain.
Penguin: The Penguin, also known as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot III, and Batman have a complicated relationship. The Penguin is considered Batman's enemy but at times a helpful one. He acts as an underworld informant. As a result, Batman is sometimes tolerable of him. The Penguin is a night club owner who uses his business as a front for criminal activity.
Mad Hatter: The Mad Hatter is an adaptation of a character prominently featured in the popular book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter has been depicted a number of different ways. His unique weapon is the ability to control the minds of his victims, using special devices designed just for this purpose. Batman's despises him more than any other foe.
Mister Freeze: Mister Freeze is one of Batman's most memorable enemies. Also known as Dr. Victor Fries, his cryogenic suit is essential to his survival. Mister Freeze's most noted weapon is his cold gun. Those he targets with it instantly become encased in ice.
Scarecrow: The Scarecrow, also known as Dr. Jonathan Crane, is a psychologist. He uses his training as a psychologist, along with drugs, to undermine his enemies. His primary tactics involve using the fears and phobias of his enemies against them.
The Joker, Catwoman, Catman, the Penguin, Mister Freeze and the Scarecrow are some of Batman's most vicious enemies. Each one of them has taken on Batman in his or her own way, using their own unique weapons and strategies, providing readers and viewers plenty of unforgettable and always entertaining battles.
