The Death And Return Of Superman
You are in Superman Games
Underworlder's have attacked the power plant and are trying to take over the Metropolis. The forces of evil have caused the complete power failure in the city. And while the underworlders are celebrating their temporary success, there's one man preparing to fight back - Superman!
This is SNES - Super Nintendo Game. In order to run on PC, the game uses Nintendo ROM 'emulator' made in Flash technology. Originally, the game has been made by Blizzard Entertainment and Sunsoft under Nintendo and DC Comics licenses in 1995. The game is named the same as the comics book from 1992 as it was completely inspired by it's storyline.
Controls
- 'Z' - Superman' laser-like sun-ray deadly beam coming from his eyes
- 'X' - fly up quickly to avoid immediate attack of the enemy
- 'A' - Superman flies up and quickly lands with fist-striking the ground and killing all enemies in the area. Limited use.
- 'S' - Classic fist punch. My preferred 'weapon', very efficient and accurate, maybe even better than the laser rays

Customizing controls
Good news is that you may customize controls the way you like. When you mouse over the screen, the game will show emulator's controls in the lower part. In order to change default values, you need to click first on the keyboard key from the image, and than the new keyboard key you wish to use for specific control. By default, this game uses standard arrow keys to move Superman, while the attack keys might be a little tricky to use especially if you must react quickly. Btw, you can also skip all the introductory screens and videos by simply keep pressing the 'enter' key.
Gameplay
A good and quite detailed description of the gameplay can be found on this wikipedia page about Death and Return of Superman. More or less, this is classic beat'em up video game where Superman moves in all 4 directions, flies up and down and fistfights against other characters. The concept is familiar, where several foes enters the scene, and Superman must beat them all up before he is allowed to carry on. You will be fighting Cyborg, Eradicator, Superboy and Steel. There were other characters in the original comic book, such as Green Lantern or Mongul, but they are missing here.
