Revenge Of The Joker - Generic side-scroll platform shoot-em up game for SEGA Genesis
Maybe the most important part to learn about the game are controls. Remember, the game is intended to be played with SEGA joystick, so it's usually a lot more than just using mouse to click around. Here's what you need to know in order to play this:
The Controls
- left, right, down - arrow keys
- enter - that one is used as start button and also as a menu selection button
- 'Z' - shoot batarang
- 'X' - jump + kick
- 'C' - foot kick from the ground
The rest of the game is more less in the style of - avoid obstacles, kill enemies, move forward and don't get killed, but I'll dig deeper into gameplay below.
Today we're gonna look out one of the "Revenge Of The Joker" for SEGA game from 1991.

Because we see gargoyles in this game I think it is based sort of on the movie. If you recall the Batman's movie from 1989 with Jack Nicholson playing Joker, you'll know what I mean. When we last saw Joker he was trying to escape Batman by Joker-copter. However, the way that the gargoyle proves too much for the Clown Prince of crime, and pulls him down. As the police gather around the Joker's body, a sound of quiet laughter draws commissioner Gordon close to the body. The end result? The Joker died. That's how it happened in the movie.

Now, at the end of "The Batman" video game, Batman punches Joker of the cathedral, and gets his revenge against his parents' killer. So, in both cases we all know the Joker's dead, right? Than how in the worlds did he come back from the dead, it just doesn't make any sense, unlike many games from 80s and 90s make sense anyway :)

Regarding the concept of this game. With Joker planning to give Gotham a new wave of crime, Batman has been sent out to make sure the Joker stays gone this time. Batman has a bunch of weapons he can pick up like the 'N' gun, the batarang gun the shuriken gun. This game is a generic side scroll platform shoot em up game. The game consits basically of seven levels and at the end of each stage you have to fight the boss, until you come face to face with The Joker, once more. It's probably the rip off of the game called Contra so you can easily call it "Batman Contra"

If you see those orbs, the bug looking things - they're not health, they're actually power ups that that turn on some Batman invincible powers. Basically Batman turns completely invincible and he has unlimited shots and they shoot out rapid fire. 'Super' Batman is an awesome power up because if the bad guys are really been sticking it to you and making it really frustrating, when you get that super power up it's like really sticking it to them.
Regarding the design. It has some very impressive visuals. The cathedral this time is really awesome with different colors and moving backgrounds. Many reviewers and critics say that the sewers is the most detailed and awesome than any other stage ever made.
The existence of password system (so you can skip those levels you hate) is a must because the game's difficulty level is insane and this game is not for everyone. This game may be a "Contra" clone but that's not really a bad thing, actually it works in its favor, meaning especially of the boss battles, they're a lot of fun.
