Adam West - The First Batman - Dies Aged 88

One of the most famous "Batman", the actor Adam West, a star from the television series about bat-superhero, has lost the battle with leukemia, at 88.

West had played Bruce Wayne in a hit series of the 60s.

He died peacefully, at his home in Los Angeles, after a short battle with leukemia, said the representative of the West family.

His unique and entertaining way of depicting Bat-man had gained the cult status.

However, after the end of the series, he had difficulties in finding new roles.

The last time he showed up in the series "Family Guy".

The Batman series was an unexpected hit. West and his colleague Burt Ward, who played Robin, were two comedians of the "dynamic duo".

An actress Julie Newmar, who played the Catwoman in the series, had paid respect to West:
