Gameplay

Commissioner Gordon using a direct line, calls Batman to meet him urgently in his headquarters. Batman takes his Batmobile, but along the way many different villains attack him: Catwoman, Joker, Egghead, Riddler and Penguin. Each of them uses some special weapon and Batman defends himself by avoiding them (using arrow keys) and shooting back at them (using spacebar). If we compare this game to some recently made ones, this game can be characterized as horrible to say the least. No points, no upgrades, just one level and even that one is way too short. Still, we have added it to our collection because it is a part of Batman history and perhaps some younger players might find it interesting to see how things looked back in the day. Technically speaking, this game is proof of how well Flash works when it comes to backward compatibility.

TV Land is an American cable channel owned by the MTV Group, which is further owned by Viacom Media Network. We mention this because Viacom network also owns Nickelodeon including the AddictingGames. So, the tendency of media houses to integrate all elements of entertainment at all imaginable levels had always existed. Logo of TV Land is present in lower right corner. Back in the day TV Land aired Batman every evening but today that is not the case anymore.
