Spiderman Villains

A Quick Overview Of Spiderman Villains
What city does Spider-man live in? Well, Peter Parker aka Spider-man lives on Forest Hills in Queens, the largest area of New York City. In order to attain the suburban feel of his neighborhood and to keep the low crime rate, Spider-man must cope with all sorts of foes and criminals. Therefore, the New York City is above all, his personal battle-field where he meets and fights the evil forces who strive to take over and make their own rules.
In-Game VillainsThe first image of the game reveals some of the Spider-man biggest enemies. See screenshots below.
- There's Kingpin, one of the biggest crime lords in NY. He works under the cover of legitimate business-man, but criminal actions are behind everything he does.
- We also see Venom, an extraterrestrial creature that makes symbiotes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbiote_(comics)) with others. It can be seen in many different forms such as Eddie Brock, Mac Gargan, Flash Thomson, Carnage and others.
- Hobgoblin is a Roderick Kingsley, a fashion designer who turned into a criminal once he discovered weapon arsenal which Green Goblin left behind.
- J Jonah Jameson - He is an editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, a very famous New York newspaper. He basically runs a negative campaign against Spider-man thus turning the whole city against him. His articles are convincing people that Spider-man is doing bad for the city and that he must be immediately stopped and imprisoned.
You shoot out webs at the enemies who show up randomly in two rows in front of you. You need to position the mouse pointer over the character when it shows up and click to shoot the web. Each time you make a successful hit, you'll get 50 points, regardless the distance of the enemy. You're supposed to hit only bad guys and skip Mary Jane. If you hit her you will loose 100 points and one of 6 lives you start with at the beginning. Once you collect enough points, you progress to the next level. Once again - don't hit Mary Jane as she is Spiderman's best friend and love-interest. As the game progresses, enemies will start showing up at faster rate, simultaneously in multiple rows thus making your aiming time shorter, and the game harder. The game will finally put your reflexes and shooting skills to the ultimate test.
Power UpsThe game lacks in power ups, achievements, and does not offer you to buy any kind of upgrades or anything similar. It is a single screen, shooting arcade, only measuring the total score and lives left at the moment. Basically you are not informed of how many foes you need to kill in order to proceed to the nest level or how much time you have left, thus making the game-play pretty much monotonous and not intriguing enough.
ControlsSince this is aim and shoot type of game, all you need is mouse to point and left click to shoot out webs. The game does not offer keyboard controls as an alternative.
GraphicsGraphics is done surprisingly well for a medium-sized flash game. Original characters, given in fully vivid colors, are animated smoothly without any glitches. Graphics is basically making up for the poor gameplay.
User Rating & ConclusionWe had absolutely positive experience while playing the game despite the fact that you won't actually get a chance to see Spider-man's face or to control his moves, which is quite normal for the first person shooter type of games. Exactly for it's simplicity and addictiveness we think that the kids will probably love it and enjoy playing it.
